Our Story
The Bar We Always Wanted
Stormy Monday is named after the blues standard — a song about the weight of Monday and the hope that the weekend brings. The name felt right for a bar that takes the craft seriously but doesn't take itself too seriously.
We took over 820 Alton Road, the longtime home of Macchialina, and turned it into something quieter and more personal. Fifty-five seats. Ten at the bar. Designed for conversations that run long, for rounds that arrive without being rushed.
The compass in our logo points in every direction — toward wherever you need to go, and toward the bar when you need to come back. Direction, movement, and return.

The Drinks
Balanced and technique-driven. No smoke-filled cloches, no TikTok theatrics. We care about what's in your glass more than the production around it.

Bar food from a Michelin kitchen. Chef Seth's snacks are built for drinking alongside — serious technique, relaxed format.

Live every Monday and Friday. The playlist on other nights fits the room. We named the bar after a blues standard for a reason.

James MacInnes
Founder · Bar
A Cutler Bay native who has shaped some of Miami's most respected cocktail programs — KYU, Kaori, KLAW, and Wynwood's Shiso. With Stormy Monday, he built the bar he always wanted to hang out in.
Seth Blumenthal
Chef
Chicago native, Miami-based for nearly a decade. Former chef de cuisine at Alter and at Le Jardinier during its Michelin-starred run. His food is technique-driven without being precious about it.

Former MLB All-Star. A partner in the project and the kind of guy who shows up to make things work.
